Technical Planner Rigging - Event Production

About the role

As a member of the Design & Engineering team, you will create safe and practical rigging solutions for event production projects, guiding them from tender and concept stages through to on‑site delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical planning and design of rigging systems for event production projects.
• Translate creative briefs into detailed 2D and 3D rigging drawings using Vectorworks.
• Perform rigging analysis, load calculations and distribution with Braceworks.
• Coordinate rigging designs with lighting, audio and video disciplines.
• Review venue and structural drawings to identify constraints, risks and load limits.
• Support tendering and pre‑production with technical concepts, specifications and equipment requirements.
• Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, manufacturers and structural engineers to resolve design issues.
• Provide on‑site technical support and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in rigging technical planning or design for live events, entertainment, theatre or similar sectors.
• Strong understanding of rigging systems, truss layouts, hoists, suspension points and load distribution.
• Riggers Training Level 2 certification is mandatory.
