Technical & Process Safety Engineer

About the role

Dixstone is looking for a Technical & Process Safety Engineer with 6‑7 years of experience in the Oil & Gas, LNG, LPG or offshore energy sector. The role supports a major energy project for a one‑year fixed‑term assignment, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and support technical safety and process safety engineering activities for oil & gas, LNG, LPG projects.
• Follow up and close out HAZOP/LOPA recommendations and safety study actions with disciplines and vendors.
• Review fire & gas (F&G) layouts, cause‑and‑effect studies, and coverage analyses.
• Assess hazardous area classification (HAC) studies and related engineering deliverables.
• Evaluate fire‑water, deluge, fire protection and passive fire protection (PFP) requirements.
• Review P&IDs, plot plans, equipment layouts, datasheets, specifications, and cause‑and‑effect diagrams from a safety perspective.
• Provide technical comments on vendor documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Interface with process, piping, mechanical, instrumentation, electrical, operations and other engineering disciplines.
• Support preparation and review of technical safety deliverables, design basis, calculations and reports.
• Participate in technical meetings with clients, consultants, vendors and project stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Safety, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 6‑7 years of experience in technical/process safety engineering within oil & gas, LNG, LPG, petrochemical or offshore projects.
• Practical experience with HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, SIL, F&G, HAC and fire protection studies.
• Familiarity with LNG/LPG facilities, offshore terminals, storage facilities or marine interfaces is an advantage.
• Knowledge of international codes and standards such as NFPA.
