Technical Sales Representative – Water Treatment Chemicals

About the role

We are looking for a technically skilled Technical Sales Representative to promote water treatment chemicals to industrial and commercial clients. The role blends chemistry expertise with a consultative sales approach to grow the business and manage key accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and acquire new B2B customers across sectors such as food & beverage, power generation, district cooling, manufacturing and municipal facilities.
• Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients through regular service visits, consumption tracking and proactive problem‑solving.
• Visit client sites, inspect water systems (boilers, cooling towers, RO plants), collect samples and interpret water analysis reports.
• Design custom chemical dosing programs including antiscalants, corrosion inhibitors, biocides, flocculants and oxygen scavengers.
• Coordinate field product trials, monitor performance metrics and convert successful trials into long‑term supply agreements.
• Prepare technical proposals, calculate cost‑benefit analyses, deliver presentations and negotiate pricing.
• Provide training on safe handling, dosing and storage of chemicals and ensure compliance with safety data sheets.
• Maintain accurate records in the CRM, forecast sales and monitor market trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or a related technical field.
• 2–5 years of proven experience in technical field sales of specialty water treatment or heavy industrial chemicals.
• Strong understanding of boiler, HVAC and membrane/RO desalination applications.
• Ability to read and interpret technical data sheets and safety data sheets.
