VAT Manager

About the role

BDO is seeking a VAT Manager to lead its Value Added Tax advisory and compliance practice across a diverse client base in the UAE. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality VAT services, building trusted client relationships, and driving business development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex VAT engagements from inception to completion, providing technical guidance and risk assessment.
• Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely delivery of deliverables and a professional experience.
• Research, interpret, and apply UAE VAT legislation, FTA clarifications, and GCC VAT developments to client matters.
• Prepare and review VAT returns, advisory memoranda, technical opinions, and client correspondence.
• Manage FTA audit processes, voluntary disclosures, reconsideration requests, and objections on behalf of clients.
• Identify and pursue new client opportunities, participate in pitches, and support proposal development.
• Supervise, coach, and mentor junior and mid‑level VAT consultants.

Required profile

• Qualified tax professional with extensive experience in UAE VAT compliance and advisory.
• Proven ability to manage senior‑level client relationships and deliver value‑added services.
• Strong business development mindset with a track record of acquiring new clients.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across sectors.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of UAE VAT legislation and FTA guidance.
• Experience handling VAT audits, voluntary disclosures, and objections.
• Ability to interpret GCC VAT developments and apply cross‑border considerations.
