Vice President, International Markets Compliance

About the role

AstraZeneca is seeking a Vice President to lead the Global Ethics & Compliance Programme across its International Commercial Markets. This senior leader will shape compliance strategy for a diverse portfolio that spans Latin America, the Middle East & Africa, Russia/Eurasia, and Asia‑Pacific (excluding China and Japan). The role reports to the Global Compliance Leadership Team and sits on the International Senior Leadership Team.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve the compliance strategy for International Markets, aligning with global objectives while addressing unique risk profiles.
• Provide strategic compliance counsel on new business initiatives, digital health models, and innovative therapeutic approaches.
• Lead a geographically dispersed team of 30+ compliance professionals and area line managers.
• Serve as the primary compliance voice, fostering a culture of ethics and integrity across varied regulatory environments.
• Balance robust risk management with the agility needed to support rapid commercial growth.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in ethics, compliance or regulatory affairs within a multinational setting.
• Solution‑focused, pragmatic mindset with strong business acumen.
• Excellent partnership and influencing skills across senior business functions.
• Deep understanding of diverse commercial models, from legal marketing affiliates to distributor‑based operations.
• Ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes in mature and emerging markets.
