VMware & Nutanix SME

About the role

We are looking for an experienced VMware & Nutanix Subject Matter Expert to manage and support our enterprise infrastructure across VMware, Nutanix, Microsoft Azure, and Windows Server environments. The role focuses on day‑to‑day operations, lifecycle management, automation and ensuring high availability of critical services.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and monitor VMware environments (ESXi hosts, vCenter, clusters, storage, VMs).
• Maintain Nutanix infrastructure (Prism Central, AHV, cluster health, capacity, lifecycle).
• Manage Microsoft Azure services (VMs, networking, storage, backup, security controls).
• Perform Windows Server administration (installation, configuration, patching, performance tuning).
• Handle infrastructure lifecycle activities such as patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation and technology refresh.
• Monitor health, performance and capacity, and proactively resolve issues.
• Support incident, problem, change and service request management following ITIL best practices.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
• Participate in disaster recovery, backup, restoration and business continuity activities.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Maintain documentation, SOPs and technical knowledge articles.
• Collaborate with application, network, security and cloud teams on projects and service delivery.

Required profile

• BSc in Telecommunications, Computer Science or related field.
• 8–10 years of IT infrastructure operations experience.
• Minimum 6 years hands‑on VMware administration and at least 3 years each in Nutanix and Azure administration.
• Proven ability to manage critical incidents in high‑pressure production environments.

Required skills

• VMware ESXi, vCenter, HA/DRS, VM provisioning, patching, performance and capacity management.
• Nutanix Prism Central, Prism Element, AHV, Lifecycle Manager, capacity monitoring and data protection.
• Microsoft Azure VM, virtual network, storage, monitoring, backup, IAM, security and governance.
• Windows Server DNS, DHCP, file services, patching, security management and performance monitoring.
• PowerShell scripting; automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform (plus Azure Automation, Azure Monitor).
• Monitoring tools like SCOM or HP Service Assurance.
