Welding QC Engineer

About the role

Archirodon is seeking a Welding QC Engineer to join its quality controls team on a major EPC project in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This role supports the delivery of high‑quality welding work for oil & gas infrastructure, ensuring compliance with client and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review quality documentation, including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and method statements for welding activities.
• Monitor design, procurement, construction and hand‑over phases of welding work, ensuring all records are generated timely.
• Manage inspection and testing of welding, supervise QC inspectors, and close out punch lists.
• Validate welder qualifications, WPS, and PQR documents; coordinate with third‑party testing agencies.
• Perform statistical analysis of test data, maintain inspection records, and raise non‑conformance reports when needed.
• Assist in audits of subcontractors and suppliers, and support final certification documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Metallurgy Engineering with a Master’s in Welding.
• Minimum 15 years of welding‑related experience in Oil & Gas EPC projects (ADNOC experience required).
• Professional welding certifications (IWE, CWE) and ISO 9001:2015 internal auditor (lead auditor preferred).
• ASNT Level II in RT, UT, MT and PT.
• CSWIP 3.1 certified (3.2 preferred).

Required skills

• Preparation and review of ITPs and method statements.
• Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) management.
• Knowledge of ASME SEC IX, AWS D1.1, API 1104, ISO 13847, SHELL DEP, ADNOC specifications.
• Welding defect identification, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Selection of welding consumables for various material groups.
• ASNT Level II testing (RT, UT, MT, PT) and ISO 9001 audit skills.
