Welding Technician

About the role

The Welding Technician will carry out fabrication works, manufacture spare parts, underground high‑voltage electrical joint boxes and workshop tools using technical drawings for equipment maintenance. The role also involves structural repairs and modifications of lifting equipment such as container and mobile cranes, RTGs to meet operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out fabrication works including manufacturing spare parts, underground high‑voltage electrical joint boxes and workshop tools using technical drawings.
• Perform structural repairs and modifications of lifting equipment (container cranes, mobile cranes, RTGs) to meet operational needs.
• Ensure welding methods comply with DP World standards, safety procedures and create a safe work environment.
• Select the correct welding method and pre‑heating procedures for each job in an accurate and effective manner.
• Verify that appropriate working platforms are in place before working on equipment such as cranes.
• Complete assigned work on time to avoid operational delays.
• Stay updated with new welding techniques and equipment to improve existing materials and processes.
• Provide guidance to Associate Technicians as required to maintain quality across the organization.
