Accountant – Accounts Payable (UAE National)

About the role

The Accountant – Accounts Payable will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records for Al Futtaim's mall operations. The role involves handling the full accounting cycle, VAT compliance, and supporting the finance team across departments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the complete accounting cycle for malls, including expense processing, monthly closing, accruals and reporting.
• Apply correct VAT codes, verify expenses against FTA guidelines and prepare schedules for corporate tax.
• Review and release approved payments, ensuring compliance with company policies and DOA.
• Prepare expense trackers, balance‑sheet reconciliations and detailed schedules for the FP&A team.
• Coordinate with banks, external auditors and the Accounts Receivable team on signatory updates, recoverable expenses and cash‑flow impacts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of relevant experience in business finance, preferably in real‑estate or mall environments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work with vendors and stakeholders at all levels.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Extensive knowledge of ERP financial software, preferably SAP.
• Ability to accurately book financial data, identify trends and resolve accounting discrepancies.
