Accountant - General Ledger and Financial Reporting

About the role

An experienced Accountant is sought to manage day-to-day financial operations and ensure the accuracy of the general ledger and financial reporting. The role covers full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable and tax filings, supporting month-end, quarter-end and year-end close cycles.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals and prepayments, and enter journal entries for expenses, card payments and bank payments.
• Draft and verify closing entries, and review receivables, payables, salaries and general ledger accounts for accuracy.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end close cycles.
• Perform regular balance sheet and bank reconciliations, reconcile payable transactions and statements, and prepare aging reports.
• Initiate bank transfers securely and efficiently.
• Prepare and submit VAT declarations and corporate tax returns.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Proven UAE experience in accounting, general ledger management and financial reconciliations.
• Strong understanding of local tax regulations, including VAT declarations and corporate tax compliance.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

Required skills

• Excellent proficiency in accounting software, SAP and ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
