Accountant – General Ledger, AP/AR, Fixed Assets

About the role

The Accountant will support GMG business units by handling the full spectrum of accounting activities, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, fixed‑asset accounting, treasury, payroll and financial planning. Working under the guidance of senior managers, the role ensures all transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with GMG policies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries, resolve discrepancies, and perform general‑ledger reconciliations.
• Process accounts payable: enter invoices, match them to purchase orders and delivery notes, create payments, and reconcile supplier statements.
• Manage accounts receivable: record receipts, monitor customer balances, follow up on collections, and close the AR ledger each month.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset master file, record asset acquisitions, and perform monthly asset reconciliations.
• Support treasury and payroll functions, including preparation of payment vouchers and payroll‑related journal entries.
• Assist in financial planning activities and provide accurate data for reporting and analysis.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Proven experience in general‑ledger, AP/AR, fixed‑asset, payroll or treasury accounting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting policies and procedures.
• Ability to work under supervision, follow guidelines and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical mindset.
