Accountant – IT Services (5-8 years experience)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our finance team in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on managing financial operations for an IT services company, handling project‑based accounting, and ensuring compliance with IFRS standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, post journal entries and perform reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including client invoicing for IT services and AMC contracts.
• Execute project accounting – cost allocation, revenue tracking, and profitability analysis per project.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and MIS dashboards.
• Conduct bank reconciliations, cash‑flow monitoring and support budgeting/forecasting.
• Ensure accurate financial data entry in ERP systems and compliance with UAE regulations and internal policies.
• Assist with internal and external audits and monitor operational costs, vendor and subcontractor payments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 5–8 years of UAE accounting experience, preferably in the IT services or technology sector.
• Strong hands‑on experience with ERP applications.
• Knowledge of IFRS standards, especially IFRS 15 revenue recognition.
• Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA or CA is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP accounting systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, financial modelling).
• Experience in project accounting and service‑based revenue recognition.
