Accountant

About the role

The company is looking for a qualified and experienced Accountant to lead its Accounts department. The role covers payables, receivables, reconciliations, balance sheets and profit and loss statements, as well as reviewing and analysing the company's accounts and ensuring compliance with financial reporting and standard accounting procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals and accounts payable and receivable, and record daily transactions
• Reconcile financial discrepancies and reconcile vendor statements
• Prepare balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements, and provide management reports on financial performance
• Process invoices, payments and expenses, and manage timely payments and collections
• Assist with tax preparation and filing, and ensure compliance with laws and tax regulations
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and monitoring of budget variances
• Support internal and external audits and review expenses to recommend cost savings
• Conduct financial analysis and communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Proven experience as a general accountant or in a similar role
• Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA is a plus
• Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
