Accountant – Retail, FMCG & Trading

About the role

Velments Group Management is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its Abu Dhabi team. The role focuses on managing accounting operations for retail, FMCG, trading, and liquor shop environments while ensuring compliance with UAE tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records.
• Process supplier invoices, customer invoices, purchase orders and credit notes.
• Perform inventory and stock accounting, including reconciliation and variance checking.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax and related accounting regulations.
• Monitor and resolve stock, cash and accounting discrepancies.
• Maintain proper accounting documentation and support financial reporting.

Required profile

• 4–5 years of accounting experience in the UAE, preferably in retail, liquor shops, FMCG or trading.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax and financial accounting standards.
• Experience with inventory management, stock reconciliation and variance analysis.
• Proven ability to handle supplier and customer invoicing, purchase orders and credit notes.
• Attention to detail and capability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
