AI Adoption And Transformation Lead

About the role

This is a senior, hands‑on role for an engineer who has already shipped LLM systems to production and understands what it takes to run them reliably where mistakes have real financial and regulatory consequences. You will lead the design, implementation, and governance of generative AI solutions within a regulated payments environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ship production LLM applications.
• Design and build RAG pipelines, agentic and tool‑calling workflows, and copilots that integrate with the payments platform and internal operations.
• Own the evaluation loop by building offline and online evaluation harnesses, golden datasets, and regression suites.
• Engineer for reliability by adding guardrails, output validation, prompt‑injection defenses, structured fallbacks, and observability.
• Optimise cost and latency through context engineering, caching, model routing, and streaming inference.
• Partner on governance with security, risk, and compliance teams for data handling, PII redaction, residency, and auditability.
• Set technical direction by leading architecture reviews, mentoring engineers, and raising the bar for LLM development.

Required profile

• 5+ years in software engineering, with 2+ years shipping LLM/GenAI systems to production.
• Strong Python expertise and hands‑on experience with LLM orchestration and RAG (embeddings, vector stores, retrieval quality, chunking, evaluation).
• Evaluation‑first mindset, building measurement into LLM systems.
• Solid ML grounding in transformer architectures, tokenisation, context windows, and practical trade‑offs.
• Production cloud experience on AWS or GCP, using containers, CI/CD, and infrastructure‑as‑code for reliable, observable services.
