About the role
The Application Engineer supports Sales and Proposals by ensuring NOV's fiberglass piping (FGS) products are applied safely, efficiently, and in line with engineering standards. The role bridges technical bid preparation, product selection, and on‑site problem solving for international oil & gas projects.
Key responsibilities
- Review customer requirements and technical outputs to confirm safe product application.
- Collaborate with Sales and Proposals teams to resolve technical issues and provide compliant solutions.
- Drive efficiency initiatives to reduce lead times and improve deliverable quality.
- Validate that technical commitments made during bids are executable by Operations.
- Analyze new RFQs, recommend optimized product solutions, and prepare technical tender packages.
- Perform engineering calculations, including pipe properties, hydraulic analysis, design verification, sizing, and stress analysis.
- Deliver technical training to employees, distributors, and customers.
- Support sales with technical presentations, customer visits, and site visits to resolve issues.
- Develop and maintain product technical literature and SOPs aligned with QC and manufacturing capabilities.
Required profile
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience on international oil & gas projects.
- Strong knowledge of composites, specifically fiberglass piping systems, and related standards.
- Proven experience in hydraulic analysis and engineering calculations.
- Ability to work closely with manufacturing, QC, and customer‑facing teams.
