Architectural Inspector (Construction Supervision)

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Architectural Inspector to join its construction supervision team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The inspector oversees construction projects, ensures compliance with architectural specifications, building codes and safety standards, and has the authority to make decisive on-site decisions that protect project quality and schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect construction sites to verify compliance with approved architectural plans, specifications and UAE building codes
• Analyze materials, workmanship and installation methods against quality standards and regulations
• Document findings in detailed reports, photographs and technical notes
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, engineers and project managers to fix deficiencies
• Monitor progress and verify work follows project schedules and specifications
• Enforce site safety protocols and occupational health and safety regulations
• Evaluate structural integrity, mechanical systems, electrical installations and finishing work
• Maintain records of inspections, test results and compliance documentation
• Communicate results and recommendations to stakeholders and identify risks that could cause delays or cost overruns
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to set and maintain inspection standards

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in construction inspection, architectural supervision or quality assurance
• Knowledge of UAE building codes, regulations and construction standards
• Understanding of architectural drawings, specifications and construction methods
• Ability to work independently and make sound on-site decisions
