Assistant Manager Life Underwriter – Emiratization (Dubai)

About the role

Orient Insurance is looking for a motivated Assistant Manager Life Underwriter to join its Life Insurance team in Dubai. The role focuses on assessing life insurance applications, evaluating risks, and making underwriting decisions within delegated authority while supporting business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate life insurance applications in line with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Review medical, financial, occupational, and lifestyle information to determine risk acceptability.
• Approve, decline, postpone, or modify coverage terms based on assessments and authority levels.
• Liaise with brokers, intermediaries, sales teams, medical providers, and customers to obtain additional underwriting information.
• Ensure timely processing of new business, renewals, endorsements, and policy amendments.
• Maintain accurate underwriting records and documentation within internal systems.
• Support product development initiatives by providing underwriting insights and market feedback.
• Contribute to departmental service level agreements and customer satisfaction objectives.

Required profile

• Emiratization with Family Book (Emirati) – mandatory.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Insurance or related discipline.
• Fresh graduates with strong academic credentials are welcome.

Required skills

• Strong analytical and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English; Arabic is an advantage.
• High numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
