Assistant Manager - Production Planning and Control (PPC)

About the role

A leading metal and steel manufacturing company in Abu Dhabi, UAE, is hiring an Assistant Manager for Production Planning and Control (PPC) through a consultancy. The role covers production scheduling, inventory and dispatch coordination, and support for IMS compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production plans based on customer orders, capacity, inventory and business priorities
• Coordinate with production, stores, procurement and dispatch to meet delivery commitments and track progress, delays and bottlenecks
• Track inventory of raw materials, finished goods and work-in-progress, and prepare production, dispatch, MIS and performance reports
• Monitor efficiency, capacity utilization, yield and wastage; coordinate shutdown planning with maintenance
• Support ERP implementation, continuous improvement and IMS compliance (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001), including audits and documentation
• Escalate delays and risks to management and promote safe work practices and QHSE awareness

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical, Industrial or Production Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field
• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in PPC within steel manufacturing, rolling mills or heavy industry
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Required skills

• Production planning, scheduling, MRP, inventory and dispatch coordination
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP applications
• Familiarity with rolling mill processes and production reporting
