Assistant Professor in Political Science

About the role

The United Arab Emirates University is seeking an Assistant Professor to join its Department of Government and Society. The position focuses on teaching, research, and service in Political Science and related fields such as Comparative Politics, International Political Economy, and International Relations.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the designated areas of expertise.
• Supervise master’s theses and guide graduate research projects.
• Develop and sustain an internally or externally funded research program.
• Publish research findings in refereed journals and maintain a strong citation record.
• Contribute to departmental development and engage with the broader university and UAE community.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Political Science or a closely related field from an accredited university.
• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses.
• Strong record of peer‑reviewed publications, high h‑index, and citation metrics in Scopus/Google Scholar.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
• Academic administrative or professional experience is advantageous.

• Excellent written and oral communication in English.
