Head of Art – Lead Creative Learning

About the role

The Head of Art will lead the art department, creating a nurturing, play‑based learning environment for secondary students and delivering high‑quality, inclusive art education aligned with international curricula.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the academy in achieving its vision and strategic targets, complying with health, safety, and equal‑opportunity policies.
• Plan and deliver art lessons that set clear objectives, challenge students, and assess progress against the English National Curriculum and other programmes.
• Lead performance management, set annual targets, and contribute to staff development and safeguarding training.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree and PGCE certification.
• At least 6 years of teaching experience in Art at UK secondary level, preferably in an international school.
• Experience teaching students for whom English is not the first language.
• Commitment to international education values and child safeguarding.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the English National Curriculum and its latest developments.
• Familiarity with UAE Ministry of Education and ADEK regulations on curriculum, assessment, and compliance.
