Assistant Resident Engineer – Civil (Sewerage Rehabilitation)

About the role

The Assistant Resident Engineer will support the Resident Engineer on utility and drainage projects in Abu Dhabi, covering stormwater, flood alleviation, wastewater and water distribution networks.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in technical delivery, contract administration and construction supervision for utility works.
• Coordinate with contractors, sub‑contractors, government departments and consultants to ensure progress and avoid delays.
• Review shop drawings, design proposals and method statements, and prepare related instructions and cost estimates.
• Monitor site activities, manage inspectors and surveyors, and maintain project logs and as‑built records.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports and facilitate hand‑over of completed works to service authorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum eight (8) years of experience in drainage and utility projects.
• Experience with stormwater, wastewater, and water distribution infrastructure is preferred.

Required skills

• Technical delivery and construction supervision.
• Contract administration and tendering processes.
• Review of shop drawings, design proposals and method statements.
• Cost estimating and preparation of progress reports.
• Coordination with government agencies and utility service authorities.
