Assistant Restaurant Manager

About the role

Marriott International is looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager in Dubai. The role ensures that staff work as a team to deliver optimum service and meet guest needs, while supporting management on staffing and day-to-day restaurant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Make sure staff work together as a team, and inspect their grooming and attire, correcting any deficiencies
• Complete opening and closing duties, including setting up supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and locking doors
• Inspect storage areas for organization, FIFO use and cleanliness, and complete scheduled inventories and stock requisitions
• Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety and guest well-being
• Complete work orders for maintenance repairs and assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and coaching employees
• Serve as a role model and first point of contact for the Open Door Policy, and follow company safety and security policies
• Welcome guests according to company standards, anticipate their needs, assist people with disabilities and thank them sincerely

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• At least 2 years of related work experience
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience
• No license or certification required

The role involves standing, sitting or walking for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.
