Assistant/Associate Professor – Robotics & Physical AI (Field Robotics)

About the role

The Robotics Area within MBZUAI’s Computing and Mathematical Sciences Division seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor to lead research and teaching in field robotics, physical AI, and their applications across mining, construction, agriculture, aerial and underwater environments.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality undergraduate and graduate instruction and mentor students.
• Develop and update curriculum in robotics and AI.
• Conduct independent, interdisciplinary research that advances intelligent robotic systems interacting with the physical world.
• Collaborate with industry partners, government agencies, and research institutions on real‑world challenges.

Required profile

• PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated excellence in innovative, impactful research and a strong publication record.
• Passion for mentoring and teaching students at the university level.

Required skills

• Expertise in field robotics and physical AI.
• Experience with interdisciplinary research spanning AI, robotics, and related domains.
