Buildings & Facilities Director

About the role

The Buildings & Facilities Director provides strategic leadership for the planning, design, execution, and maintenance of all Authority buildings, facilities, and infrastructure across Dubai. The role drives operational excellence, ensures compliance with RTA standards, and embeds sustainability and intelligent systems into departmental initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans, KPIs, and horizon‑scanning activities to align projects with Authority objectives.
• Oversee end‑to‑end project execution, from feasibility studies and design through construction and handover, ensuring compliance with standards, specifications, and schedules.
• Manage contracts, consultant pre‑qualification, and vendor relationships while maintaining budgetary control.
• Lead cross‑functional programs to optimise asset performance through the RTA Asset Management System.
• Promote green building design, smart building technologies, AI/ML‑driven simulations, and predictive maintenance to achieve net‑zero and sustainability goals.
• Conduct site visits, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement of project governance and data‑driven decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Architectural Engineering or Project Management.
• Minimum 16 years of experience in facilities, infrastructure or construction management, preferably in a large public‑sector organization.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale, multi‑disciplinary projects and managing substantial budgets.
