Business Development Manager – Products Specifier

About the role

This specification‑focused Business Development Manager will drive early‑stage product placement for a leading interior‑solutions manufacturer. You will work closely with architects, consultants and developers to ensure the company’s products are specified at the design stage of UAE construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and nurture relationships with architects, consultants, developers, PMCs, interior designers and fit‑out contractors.
• Secure product specifications in project documents, BOQs and tender submissions.
• Identify new projects at concept, design and pre‑tender stages to maximise specification opportunities.
• Conduct product presentations, technical discussions and specification workshops with design firms.
• Provide technical guidance, product recommendations, samples and supporting documentation.
• Track specifications throughout the project lifecycle and collaborate with the sales team to convert them into awarded business.
• Maintain a pipeline of commercial, hospitality, residential, healthcare and government projects.
• Monitor competitor activity, market trends and emerging opportunities, and represent the business at industry events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in specification sales or business development within interior products, building materials or architectural products.
• Established relationships with consultants, architects, interior designers, developers, PMCs and fit‑out contractors in the UAE.
• Strong understanding of specification selling and the construction project lifecycle.
• Proven ability to deliver technical product presentations and engage design consultants.
• Commercially driven with a track record of converting specifications into business.
