Business Development Manager (Retail Shopfitting)

About the role

The Business Development Manager develops, manages and expands the customer and reseller network in the Middle East and North Africa, and generates new business. The role focuses on increasing sales of shop fitting solutions, retail equipment, shopping trolleys, shelving systems, warehouse equipment and related products through channel partners. The company is recruiting through Sapphire Recruitment Consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage, support and develop key retail accounts and build long-term relationships with decision-makers
• Sourcing, researching and qualifying new leads, then converting them into business opportunities
• Develop tailored sales strategies and value propositions for each market and customer profile
• Manage and develop resellers in the MENA region, setting targets, reviewing performance and providing guidance and training
• Monitor market trends and prepare market and competitor analyses, and report regularly to management and headquarters
• Take part in the annual budgeting process, prepare sales forecasts and report on sales performance and pipeline
• Represent the company at trade fairs, industry events and customer meetings

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field
• 5-10 years of sales experience in the GCC, with proven experience in retail shopfitting and ideally established contacts
• Currently residing in the UAE; must own a car and be willing to travel 30-50% of the time
• Fluent English at contract and negotiation level; Arabic is an advantage but not essential

Required skills

• Advanced MS Office, especially Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
• SAP experience is an advantage but not essential
