Business & Economics Teacher

About the role

The Business & Economics Teacher will deliver high‑quality instruction to KS5 learners at The English College Dubai, fostering academic excellence and personal growth. You will be responsible for planning, teaching, assessing and supporting a diverse cohort of students, including those with additional needs and English language learners.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Business and Economics lessons, aligning with UK examination specifications and the school curriculum.
• Assess student progress through formative and summative strategies, mark work according to school policy, and communicate outcomes to parents.
• Provide differentiated challenge for more able learners while supporting students with additional learning needs.
• Lead tutor‑group pastoral duties, monitor attendance and behaviour, and deliver PERMA and Moral, Social, Cultural lessons.
• Participate in school events, extracurricular clubs, and contribute to faculty resource development.

Required profile

• Good honours degree and a QTS or PGCE teaching qualification (preferably UK).
• Minimum two years of teaching experience, preferably with UK curricula.
• Ability to obtain an Enhanced DBS/ICPC check.
• Professional appearance, commitment to the school’s vision, and willingness to engage in continuous professional development.

• Strong knowledge of the English National Curriculum and assessment principles.
• Effective classroom management and pastoral support skills.
• Excellent communication with students, parents and colleagues.
