Caregiver – Patient Support

About the role

The Caregiver will work under the direct supervision of registered nursing staff to provide safe, timely patient care in a clinical setting in Al Ain. The role focuses on assisting patients with daily activities, supporting therapy sessions, and maintaining a clean, comfortable environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, toileting and feeding.
• Perform manual handling tasks, including patient transfers and mobility, according to competency.
• Provide assistive care to tracheostomized patients under nurse direction.
• Support pediatric patients in play activities under guidance of nurses and therapists.
• Monitor and promptly report any changes in patient condition to licensed staff.
• Assist during physical, occupational or speech therapy sessions as directed.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and ensure equipment is cleaned and stocked.
• Offer emotional support to patients and families and help with housekeeping, laundry, food preparation and errands.
• Respond to emergencies following established policies and contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Ability to work under supervision of licensed nursing staff.
• Physical capability to perform manual handling and patient transfers.
• Good communication skills to interact with patients, families and healthcare team.
• Willingness to follow established protocols and report changes in patient status.
