Specialist Physician – General Surgery

About the role

The Specialist Physician in General Surgery delivers high‑quality, evidence‑based, patient‑centred care within the Division. Reporting to the Consultant Physician, the role also involves supervising junior medical staff and contributing to clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients according to best‑practice standards, lead ward rounds and ensure proper documentation.
• Supervise junior medical staff, participate in multidisciplinary meetings, and provide out‑of‑hours on‑call coverage on a rotational basis.
• Support quality improvement initiatives, audit activities, and incident reporting within the Division.
• Promote and participate in clinical research, publications, and the education of junior staff.

Required profile

• Board‑certified specialist in General Surgery.
• Tier 1: No additional experience required post‑certification; Tier 2: Minimum 2 years clinical experience in an internationally accredited institute; Tier 3: Minimum 3 years specialist experience.
• UAE nationals and residents in HAAD‑accredited programs may apply without additional experience.
