Chief Engineer – Dubai Metro Alstom Trains

About the role

The Chief Engineer will lead the planning, oversight and compliance of the Dubai Metro Alstom rolling‑stock maintenance and delivery programmes. Reporting to senior management, you will ensure safety, performance and integration with RTA standards while governing contractor execution and lifecycle optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement maintenance strategies for Alstom rolling stock, defining KPIs and optimisation initiatives.
• Prepare functional requirements, technical specifications and support tender evaluations for related procurements.
• Supervise technical systems, risk registers, hazard mitigation measures and safety case verification.
• Monitor contracts to ensure quality, compliance and timely execution of preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Lead factory and site acceptance testing, commissioning, technical inspections and quality assurance for Alstom assets.
• Analyse performance data, manage spare‑parts availability and coordinate asset scrapping/replacement.
• Review and update maintenance specifications, manuals and standards, using the Maintenance Management System to drive root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in rolling‑stock or mass‑transit engineering, preferably within a metro environment.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage large‑scale maintenance contracts.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk management and asset lifecycle optimisation.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills to support senior decision‑making.
