Civil Inspector – Stormwater & Micro‑tunneling

About the role

The Civil Inspector will supervise and inspect stormwater drainage and micro‑tunneling works on a daily basis. The role ensures that all civil activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and local authority standards in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and inspect excavation, shoring, backfilling, micro‑tunneling drives, shaft construction, reinforcement, concrete pouring, waterproofing and finishing of stormwater structures.
• Verify alignment, gradients and levels for pipelines, chambers and manholes to ensure design compliance.
• Ensure contractor works meet Dubai Municipality, RTA and other authority standards.
• Record daily manpower, equipment and material deliveries and prepare inspection reports.
• Supervise concrete curing, coating and lining works for stormwater‑related structures.
• Assist Resident Engineer in issuing site instructions and verifying contractor responses.
• Coordinate with contractors to resolve civil‑works issues and follow up corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in construction and supervision of sewerage, stormwater, irrigation and miscellaneous works, with at least 5 years in the UAE.
• In‑depth knowledge of UAE construction practices, building codes and regulations.
• Strong familiarity with contract documents, detailed drawings and project specifications.
• Proficiency in conducting site inspections, quality control and quality assurance procedures.
