Clinic Testing Center Lead

About the role

The Clinic Testing Center (CTC) Lead will drive the planning, establishment, and steady‑state operation of a new on‑campus clinical testing facility supporting the Global Human Phenotype Project at MBZUAI.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an integrated project plan, define workstreams, milestones, dependencies and track progress against the Global HPP requirements.
• Lead the on‑site establishment of the CTC, coordinating facilities, architects, engineers, equipment procurement, IT, security, and recruitment of staff.
• Manage regulatory, ethics (IRB), licensing, data‑protection and institutional approvals in collaboration with the Global HPP team.
• Support operational launch by monitoring participant recruitment, KPIs, sample and data collection, and driving improvement actions.
• Act as primary contact for the Global HPP team, run regular project meetings, prepare steering‑committee materials and manage issue escalation.
• Track budget and expenditures, coordinate purchase orders, invoices and vendor contracts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Public Health, Business Administration or related field.
• Master’s degree (e.g., MPH, MBA, MSc) or equivalent advanced qualification.
• Recognized project‑management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2.
• Proven experience managing complex, multi‑stakeholder healthcare or clinical‑research projects, including new site start‑ups.
• Familiarity with ethics/IRB processes, Good Clinical Practice (ICH‑GCP) and regulatory environments in the UAE/GCC.
• Strong budget, procurement and vendor‑management experience, with ability to report to senior leadership.
