About the role
This position is based in A&O Shearman’s Dubai office and focuses on disputes work, including commercial litigation and international arbitration for clients across the Middle East.
The practice regularly handles large cross‑border arbitrations in sectors such as construction, energy and financial services.
Key responsibilities
- Manage commercial litigation matters for regional and international clients.
- Conduct and support international arbitration proceedings, including drafting statements of claim, defenses and arbitral submissions.
- Liaise with clients and counsel in the Middle East on dispute strategy and case management.
- Assist senior partners in preparing for hearings, mediations and arbitrations.
Required profile
- Qualified lawyer in England & Wales or an equivalent common‑law jurisdiction.
- 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience in commercial litigation or international arbitration.
- Experience with Middle‑East related disputes is a plus.
- Strong drafting and advocacy abilities.
