Head of Licensing and Regulatory Authorisations

About the role

The Head of Licensing and Regulatory Authorisations will lead the development and execution of Tether's global authorisations strategy across key jurisdictions, coordinating a distributed team of regional regulatory affairs and licensing professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a unified global licensing strategy, ensuring consistency across regional approaches.
• Oversee preparation, submission, and management of licensing applications and regulatory authorisation processes.
• Serve as the central coordination point for licensing activities across all regions, providing guidance and escalation support.
• Act as senior representative in regulatory engagements requiring global coordination or executive involvement.
• Coordinate operational readiness with regional teams to meet jurisdictional authorisation obligations.
• Conduct regulatory feasibility assessments for new markets and advise executive leadership on risk and prioritisation.
• Lead, mentor, and build capability within the global regulatory and licensing team.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in regulatory licensing, authorisations, compliance or related fields within financial services, fintech, crypto or technology.
• Proven track record managing complex multi‑jurisdictional authorisation processes.
• Strong understanding of diverse global regulatory frameworks and supervisory expectations.
• Experience leading or working within regional or matrixed team structures.
