About the role

Apt Resources is seeking a motivated Commis 1 – Sushi to join the culinary brigade of a prestigious 5‑star luxury hotel located on the Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Sushi Chef, preparing authentic sushi and sashimi while upholding the hotel’s high standards of quality and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare sushi rolls, nigiri, and sashimi following traditional Japanese techniques and hotel specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well‑stocked sushi station throughout service.
• Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and storage protocols for raw fish and other ingredients.
• Assist with inventory checks, receiving deliveries, and proper storage of seafood.
• Collaborate with the broader kitchen team to ensure timely delivery of dishes and seamless service.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Commis 1 or similar role focused on sushi preparation, preferably in a luxury hotel or fine‑dining environment.
• Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine and sushi‑making techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure kitchen.
• Excellent attention to detail and a passion for culinary excellence.
• Current residence in the UAE.
