Commis 2 – Kitchen Assistant (Food & Beverage)

About the role

The Commis 2 supports the culinary team at The St. Regis Downtown Dubai by preparing ingredients, cooking simple dishes, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. This full‑time position is ideal for candidates with at least one year of kitchen experience who are eager to develop their culinary skills in a luxury hotel setting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients: portion, chop, weigh, and store food items.
• Wash, peel, and ready fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Measure, mix, and follow recipes to produce cold and hot dishes.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely.
• Test food for proper cooking and monitor quality throughout preparation.
• Set up and break down work stations, ensuring proper sanitation.
• Serve food in correct portions and maintain proper receptacles.
• Clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Check appliance and food temperatures for compliance.
• Follow all safety, security, and company policies, reporting any hazards or incidents.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 12 months of related kitchen or food‑service experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift and carry objects up to 25 lb.
• Willingness to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
