Commis 3 (Mijana) – Kitchen Assistant in Abu Dhabi

About the role

The Commis 3 (Mijana) supports the culinary team at The Ritz‑Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal by preparing ingredients, cooking under supervision, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. This full‑time position ensures that all food is prepared to the brand’s high quality and presentation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, chop, peel, weigh, measure and mix ingredients for cooking and cold dishes.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Cook foods according to recipes, quality and presentation checklists, and monitor cooking progress.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and maintain sanitation of all kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
• Check appliance and food temperatures, follow safety policies, and report any maintenance or safety issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related food‑preparation or kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.

Required skills

• Operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers and microwaves.
• Food safety, sanitation and temperature‑control procedures.
