Commis I – Food & Beverage (Ras Al Khaimah)

About the role

The Ritz‑Carlton Hotel in Ras Al Khaimah is seeking a Commis I to support the Food & Beverage operations. The role involves preparing special meals, maintaining kitchen standards, and assisting the culinary team during busy periods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals and substitute items according to recipes.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
• Thaw frozen items in the refrigerator and manage food storage.
• Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, garnish, and maintain food logs.
• Monitor quality and quantity of prepared food and communicate assistance needs.
• Inform Chef of excess items for daily specials and update service staff on menu specials and out‑of‑stock items.
• Follow safety, security, and hygiene policies; report maintenance issues and complete required safety training.
• Maintain professional uniform and personal appearance, and protect confidential information.
• Anticipate guests’ service needs and communicate clearly.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting objects up to 25 lb, and moving throughout the kitchen.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree in culinary arts or a related field.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen.
• Ability to work in a non‑management, full‑time capacity.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.
