Commis I – Hot & Cold Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The Commis I – Hot & Cold supports the culinary team in delivering high‑quality meals at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts in Sharjah. You will work in both hot and cold stations, ensuring dishes are prepared to recipe standards and presented beautifully.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold menu items according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Regulate and monitor temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters and other kitchen equipment.
• Thaw frozen items safely in refrigeration units and maintain accurate food logs.
• Assist with portion control, plating, garnish and daily specials communication.
• Report excess food for special menu items and inform service staff of out‑of‑stock items.
• Follow all safety, hygiene and security policies, reporting any incidents or maintenance needs.
• Support the team during busy periods and maintain a clean, professional appearance.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school qualification in culinary arts or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a hot‑and‑cold kitchen environment.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive kitchen tasks.
