Commis II - Continental

About the role

Emirates Flight Catering is hiring a Commis II for its continental section in Dubai. The Commis II manages individual products and activities within their allocated area, following the guidance of senior staff, and supports the Commis I in the kitchen.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively support Commis I duties such as final processing, cooking, dishing and cutting, as applicable to the section.
• Check that food received from Commis III meets specifications and that items are stored and handled as briefed by seniors.
• Arrange and dish food according to the menu while following hygiene and safety procedures.
• Familiarise yourself with products, processes, menus, ingredients and equipment in your area.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and tidiness in the kitchen, storage, chillers and freezers.
• Share ideas with seniors on cost reduction and report any equipment faults to the supervisor.
• Comply with quality, health, safety and environmental management policies.

Required profile

• Minimum Senior Secondary School certificate.
• At least 1 year of experience, including apprenticeship or industrial training.
• Culinary experience.
