Commissioning Superintendent Mechanical

About the role

KBR is seeking an experienced Commissioning Superintendent Mechanical to lead on‑shore commissioning activities for a mega EPC project in Abu Dhabi. The role involves coordinating with licensors and vendors to ensure successful start‑up of sales gas and condensate operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with licensors and vendors to monitor commissioning activities according to their procedures.
• Oversee progress of commissioning for sales gas and condensate areas, reviewing pre‑commissioning and commissioning procedures.
• Review commissioning manuals, verify mechanical completion certificates, and ensure readiness for MC and RFSU certificate issuance.
• Participate in commissioning meetings, troubleshoot obstacles, and approve punch‑list close‑out.
• Ensure handover methodology complies with contractual documents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 18 years of commissioning/operation readiness experience, preferably in the GCC region.
• At least 5 years in a similar role on oil & gas or petrochemical projects, with exposure to sour‑gas, hydrogen production, or hydro‑desulfurization projects.

Required skills

• Commissioning and pre‑commissioning processes.
• Mechanical completion verification.
• MC and RFSU certificate management.
• Experience with sour‑gas, hydrogen production, and hydro‑desulfurization systems.
