Compliance and Strategic Advisory Manager

About the role

AKW Consultants is seeking an experienced professional to lead compliance and strategic advisory engagements for its clients in the UAE and beyond. The role involves managing a portfolio of clients, delivering regulatory gap assessments, designing compliance frameworks, and supporting transaction‑related work.

Key responsibilities

• Own a client portfolio with commercial accountability: originate opportunities, secure mandates and expand relationships.
• Lead compliance and strategic advisory projects, including gap assessments, framework design, regulatory remediation and market‑entry advice.
• Support due‑diligence, target assessment and advisory services for mergers, acquisitions and investments in regulated sectors.
• Interpret UAE AML/CFT, DPMS and sector‑specific regulations and translate developments into commercial insights.
• Prepare proposals, credentials and thought‑leadership materials in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Mentor junior consultants and ensure high‑quality delivery across engagements.

Required profile

• 6–12 years of experience in consulting, compliance advisory or a regulated industry, preferably with Big 4 or equivalent professional services exposure.
• Strong working knowledge of the UAE regulatory environment and commercial landscape.
• Depth in at least one area such as AML/CFT, regulatory compliance or related domains.
• Intellectually curious, commercially astute and confident presenting to clients.
