Compliance Counsel – Investigations

About the role

We are seeking a senior Compliance Counsel to lead and support investigations into fraud, bribery and corruption for a leading utilities and energy group headquartered in Abu Dhabi. The role sits within a best‑in‑class compliance function and works closely with senior business partners to protect the organisation from internal and external risks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support local and international investigations into fraud, bribery and corruption.
• Design, implement and deliver training on compliance policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the wider Compliance team to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Interpret and apply local and international anti‑corruption laws.
• Provide practical legal advice to business units and senior management.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer (UK or US) from a top‑tier law firm or an in‑house counsel at a global organisation.
• Minimum 8 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in investigations, anti‑bribery or related compliance work.
• Regional experience is highly desirable, but strong candidates outside the Middle East will be considered.
• Proactive, imaginative and able to act as a true business partner.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of fraud, bribery and corruption investigations.
• Strong understanding of local and international anti‑corruption legislation.
• Ability to develop and deliver compliance training programmes.
