Construction Manager – Oil & Gas EPC Projects

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to lead mechanical and piping construction activities on EPC projects within the oil & gas and petrochemical sector in Abu Dhabi. The role involves planning, executing and supervising complex piping replacement, shutdown and simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) while ensuring safety, quality and schedule compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end construction execution for EPC projects from mobilization to mechanical completion and handover.
• Manage mechanical and piping scopes including fabrication, installation, hydro‑test, NDT and reinstatement of process piping systems.
• Plan and supervise construction under SIMOPS conditions, coordinating with live plant operations to minimise production impact.
• Develop and implement plant shutdown/turnaround construction plans, aligning scope, resources and sequencing with tight windows.
• Oversee corrosion mitigation works such as pipe‑spool replacement, patch‑plate installations and integrity restoration.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, quality, ASME and API standards; enforce permit‑to‑work, isolation and confined‑space procedures.
• Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, HSE, operations and subcontractors to resolve field issues and maintain schedule and budget.
• Supervise site supervisors, foremen, QC inspectors and craft labour; manage subcontractor performance.
• Review and approve method statements, ITPs, risk assessments and work permits before execution.
• Monitor progress against baseline schedule, report productivity, manpower and material status, and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 10–15 years of construction management experience on oil & gas, petrochemical or industrial EPC projects.
• Proven track record managing mechanical and piping construction on live/operational plants and brownfield sites.
• Hands‑on experience with high‑alloy piping systems, including fabrication, welding coordination, installation and testing.
