Wet Utilities Design Engineer

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Wet Utilities Design Engineer to join its multidisciplinary consultancy team in Abu Dhabi. You will be responsible for planning and detailed design of potable water, fire‑fighting, irrigation, foul sewer and stormwater networks for infrastructure and land‑development projects across the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Design wet utility systems including pipelines, manholes, chambers, pumping stations, wet wells and storage facilities.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts and schematics using CAD/BIM tools.
• Develop hydraulic models to analyse and optimise system performance.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments and pipe‑sizing calculations.
• Prepare technical reports, design specifications and bill of quantities while ensuring compliance with local codes and authority standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of consultancy experience in wet utilities design, preferably on UAE/GCC projects.
• Experience with Abu Dhabi authority submission procedures is highly preferred.
• Professional membership or progress towards membership (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, ASCE) is an advantage.

Required skills

• Hydraulic modelling software: WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWorks, EPANET.
• CAD/BIM tools: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Infrawizard.
• Office applications for calculations and reporting: MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
