Consultant Anaesthetist – Perioperative Care

About the role

Healthpoint is seeking an experienced, patient‑centred Consultant Anaesthetist to provide comprehensive peri‑operative care across a broad range of surgical specialties in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver expert anaesthetic care for elective, emergency and complex surgeries, including general, regional and local techniques.
• Conduct pre‑operative assessments, anaesthesia planning and risk evaluation.
• Manage post‑operative recovery, pain control and peri‑operative complications.
• Provide airway management and resuscitation support in emergencies and critical care situations.
• Support intensive care services and mentor junior physicians.
• Contribute to clinical protocols, patient safety initiatives and quality improvement programmes.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and recognised residency in Anaesthesiology.
• Board certification/fellowship (Arab Board, Saudi Board, UK CCT, US Board, etc.).
• Eligibility for a Department of Health licence as a Consultant Anaesthetist in Abu Dhabi.
• Minimum 5 years post‑certification consultant experience in a reputable hospital.
• Proven expertise in difficult airway management, regional anaesthesia and complex surgical anaesthesia.
