Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmology

About the role

The Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmology will join the SEHA network in Al Ain, providing specialist eye care for children. The role combines clinical leadership with managerial responsibilities to ensure high‑quality, safe, and efficient patient services.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat pediatric eye conditions in accordance with best‑practice standards.
• Lead ward rounds, oversee junior medical staff, and ensure appropriate documentation of clinical information.
• Support the Division Chief with scheduling, recruitment, and maintaining adequate medical coverage.
• Participate in performance management processes, peer review, and utilization reviews.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, other specialties, and support services to deliver holistic patient care.
• Ensure compliance with SEHA policies, regulatory requirements, licensure, certification, and mandatory training.

Required profile

• Medical qualification meeting SEHA Tier 1 or Tier 2 standards.
• Current licensure and certification to practice ophthalmology in the UAE.
• Experience supervising junior staff and managing clinical workflows.
• Ability to adhere to hospital policies on admissions, consultations, surgeries, discharges, and outpatient follow‑up.
