Consultant Physician – Cardiology

About the role

The Consultant Physician – Cardiology leads and supervises high‑quality, evidence‑based cardiac care at SSMC. The role involves diagnosing, managing and treating patients while providing clinical leadership and training for junior medical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Support and implement hospital policies, performance management, peer review and utilization review processes.
• Assist the Division Chief with scheduling, recruitment, and ensuring continuous medical coverage.
• Oversee clinical activities of junior staff, lead ward rounds, and ensure accurate documentation and timely communication with patients and families.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, quality improvement initiatives, audits, and incident reporting.
• Provide on‑call coverage on a rotational basis, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years post‑board certification experience (Tier 1) or 8 years full‑time consultant experience (Tier 2) in an internationally accredited institute.
• Current national medical license and proof of yearly CME.
• For UAE nationals, clinical fellowship training from approved countries may count double towards experience.
