Consultant Plastic Surgeon – Burn Unit

About the role

The Al Ain Region is seeking an experienced Consultant Plastic Surgeon to lead its Burn Unit. The role combines clinical excellence with managerial oversight to ensure high‑quality patient care and efficient departmental operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support and implement hospital, departmental and divisional policies and initiatives.
• Lead performance management processes, including peer review and productivity assessments.
• Assist the Division Chief with scheduling, recruitment, and ensuring continuous medical coverage.
• Oversee clinical activities of junior medical staff and assume responsibility for patient care delivered.
• Conduct ward rounds, reassess in‑patients and out‑patients, and document clinical information promptly.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary meetings and liaise with other specialties for comprehensive patient management.
• Ensure compliance with SEHA facility policies, licensing, certification and mandatory training.

Required profile

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialization in Plastic Surgery.
• Board certification or fellowship from a recognized Western board (e.g., American Board, CCT UK, Australian Board).
• Current national medical license and proof of yearly CME.
• Minimum of 5 years post‑specialization experience in Plastic Surgery, preferably with burn care exposure.
